The Mesa Water District (MWD) was established in 1960 as a special district under the Water Code of the State of California. The District’s service area covers approximately 18 square miles with a population of 114,778 residents. MWD provides water services to the City of Costa Mesa, John Wayne Airport, and a portion of the City of Newport Beach.
